A product of the Sunshine Coast, Mark Butterworth has been involved in the IT industry for 12 years. His career has taken him to Brisbane, Sydney, and London, supplying IT services and support in Schools, busy city offices, Australian Post Offices, and many businesses and homes. Early in his career he gained substantial experience as the service manager for a large Brisbane-based company Homework Computers who were responsible supplying IT systems to many schools and large retailers across the greater Brisbane area.
A Microsoft Certified Professional, Mark returned to the Sunshine Coast from London with a clear vision of the importance and the convenience of a mobile IT Consulting service for local business and home computer users.
He attributes the successful growth of his business to a number of factors.
“I enjoy providing a personal service. I encourage my clients to determine what software and hardware must keep running to support their business. This enables me to prioritise client jobs and to respond as quickly as the situation demands.
“I have the necessary skills and experience in terms of providing IT service and support and I also understand the small business environment. I realise the importance of guiding clients in line with their various levels of IT literacy. I tailor my services and approach to their specific needs and skills.
“To avoid downtime on a business-critical application during trading hours I may have to work at a client site after hours or on weekends. I get great satisfaction from knowing that a client can rely on my services.”
Today Mark Butterworth’s vision for a Sunshine Coast IT Consultancy has resulted in a customer base across a variety of industry sectors, including building and construction, marketing, sport and recreation, shop fitting and numerous trades. Many have been customers of MB Computers since the early days. They have grown as the economy of the region has grown and their information systems needs have become more sophisticated and demanding.
